§ 3-04. Compensation

A.

The salary of the first mayor elected under this Charter shall be thirty-eight thousand five hundred dollars ($38,500.00) annually. The council may, by ordinance, change the salary of the mayor provided that no ordinance changing such salary shall be passed during the last year of the term of the mayor and further provided that the salary change shall not become effective during the term of the mayor in office at the time the salary is changed. The mayor shall, upon presentation of properly documented receipts, be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred in carrying out the official duties of the office.

B.

The council shall specify by ordinance the employee benefits to be provided the mayor.
