§ 5-71. Permit—Required; exceptions.

  • No wiring, devices, appliances or equipment for the transmission, distribution or utilization of electrical energy for any purpose shall be installed within or on any building or structure nor shall any alteration or addition be made in any such existing wiring, devices, appliances or equipment, without first securing a permit therefor from the city, except as follows:

    (1)

    A permit shall be required for replacement of existing wiring.

    (2)

    A permit shall be required for the addition of two (2) or more circuits.

    (3)

    No permit shall be required for the installation, maintenance or alteration of electric wiring, devices, appliances or equipment to be installed by or for an electric public service corporation for the use of such a corporation in the generation, transmission, distribution or metering of electrical energy, or for the use of the corporation in the operation of signals or the transmission of intelligence.
