§ 23-3. Same—Conditions.

  • (a)

    The public liability insurance or bond of indemnity required by this chapter shall be for the protection of the passengers of the vehicles and for the public, but shall not cover personal injuries sustained by the servants, agents, or employees of the person so filing the same.

    (b)

    The public liability insurance or bond of indemnity shall provide that suit may be brought thereon directly, and no person having claim arising under the insurance policies or indemnity bonds shall ever be required to proceed against the owner of a taxicab, but in the first instance may sue the public liability insurance company or stock bonding company by joining the owner of the taxicab.

    (c)

    All policies of insurance or indemnity bonds shall contain a provision for a continuing liability thereon up to the full amount thereof, notwithstanding any recovery thereon.
