§ 21-68. Qualifications of applicants.

  • (a)

    The penalty for conviction of a violation of any of the provisions of state law referred to in this section shall be immediate disqualification and revocation of the driver's license.

    (1)

    Louisiana Revised Statutes 32:521, pertaining to stored motor vehicles; or

    (2)

    Louisiana Revised Statutes 32:701, et seq., the Louisiana certificate of title law; or

    (3)

    Louisiana Revised Statutes 14:67, to include theft of motor vehicles, component parts and/or accessories thereof; or

    (4)

    Louisiana Revised Statutes 14:98, operating a vehicle while intoxicated; or

    (5)

    Louisiana Revised Statutes 14:98.1, operating a vehicle while under the influence of marijuana, morphine, or cocaine; or

    (6)

    Louisiana Revised Statutes 14:99, reckless operation of a motor vehicle; or any crime for which an offender may be sentenced to death or imprisonment at hard labor as defined in Louisiana Revised Statutes 14:2(4).

    (b)

    The moving violations are limited to situations where the violations occurred while the driver or operator was behind the wheel of a wrecker. These qualifications shall likewise apply to any operator, driver and/or employee of same.

    (c)

    These penalties shall be levied by the city council against the convicted person(s), party or parties, after notice and hearing.
