§ 20-224. Legal remedy of treasurer when transportation companies refuse examination of books, records, etc.

  • If any transportation company, agency, or firm shall refuse to permit examination of its books, records and other documents by the treasurer, the treasurer may proceed by rule, in or out of term or in chambers, in any court of competent jurisdiction and require the transportation company, agency or firm to shown cause why the treasurer should not be permitted to examine its books, records or other documents, and in case the rule be made absolute, the same shall be considered a judgment of the court and every violation of the judgment shall be considered as a contempt thereof and punished according to law.
